!WARNING!

Korean Immigration is currently checking on the schools blacklisted herein. Therefore, if you or anyone you know is doing any illegal teaching for these schools your advised to clear out. Police may show up at the door and do a passport check.

Also, Police have been showing up at "yogwans" (Korean inns) where they know many illegal teachers stay to check on Visas. Be wise. Beware!

FYI

Many teachers are confused about filing complaints against schools for contract violations and other infractions. The Labor Board is about the only place where such complaints can be made, and they do take them seriously. But the Labor Board is limited in what it can do:

O The Labor Board can receive complaints and investigate the schools, even fine them.

O The Labor Board can retrieve any salary or bonuses due but only after thoroughly investigates the situation. The teacher is often told to negotiate as best as possible with the employer.

O The Labor Board CANNOT do anything about obtaining a letter of release so that a teacher can take another job. Nor can immigration. The letter is the sole prerogative of the employer.
